I am a retired professional firefighter and fire service instructor with several "Rewards and Letters of Commendation" for going above and beyond the "call of duty". Yes everyone does have the "potential" of being a hero -- because a "hero" is in the eyes of someone else. A hero does not have to be "brave" or "risk his/her life in combat or in the line of duty". A hero may be anyone you look up to - a teacher, a ball player or any role model that has inspired you in your life. You may be a "hero" to someone and not even know it - because you may have "inspired" someone in a "life changing way" that you are not even aware of.
